The Averyn app
Rellan Averyn's virtual assistant.
Rellan explains what the records say. A person decides what to do about it. Rellan answers your household's questions about your own records, at any hour; it is not a person, and it cannot give medical advice.
Administrative coordination and follow-through. Not medical advice, not clinical monitoring, not emergency response.
What it reads
Your household's record, not a single file.
One document read out of context, or one lab result on its own, is missing the rest: which doctors, medications and conditions your household is actually managing. Rellan works from the record Averyn has organized for your household, not a single file you paste in, so it can answer across a hospital stay or several months.
Record Vault documents
Summarized, searched, or followed for one fact in date order.
Hospital stays
Each summarized from its own documents, with the portal messages already captured.
Lab and vital results over time
Labs restated with the range and flag the lab printed, never a flag it worked out.
Medication, condition and allergy lists
The lists Averyn keeps, beside what a hospital's chart said.
The calendar
Appointments, the rides there and back, and your standing week.
The Care Ledger
Medications and care activities, with their schedule.
The care team
Providers, pharmacies and vendors.
Written updates
What Averyn has published for your household.
Requests and threads
Your requests, Averyn's open work, and your own threads with Averyn.
What you can ask
Questions in your own words.
Rellan does the looking up and shows a plain list of what it looked at. Some questions it answers, by what it reads:
Requests and Averyn's work
What is Averyn working on for us right now?
The work Averyn is carrying for your household, and where each item stands.
What is waiting on me?
The items that are yours to act on, kept apart from Averyn's own.
Has anyone scheduled the neurology referral from March?
Where the request stands, and whether the calendar shows an appointment.
Documents, stays and results
What happened at the last appointment?
What the visit's documents say, each one named and dated.
Which medications changed during the hospital stay, and when?
What the stay's documents listed, and what changed on which date.
What have her potassium results been since the spring?
Each value in date order, with the range and flag the lab printed.
Which doctor ordered the MRI, and did the report come back?
The documents that mention it, in date order, and where the record is silent.
Do we have the discharge summary from the rehab stay?
Whether it is filed in the Vault, and where to open it.
The calendar and the week
When is the next cardiology appointment, and who is driving?
The appointment, with the ride there and the ride back.
Have we been to that office before?
Earlier visits at the same office, with their dates.
What is on the Care Ledger this week?
The medications and care activities, with their schedule.
Plain language
What does eGFR mean on this lab report?
What the term generally means, labeled as general information, not as a finding about her.
Handing it to a person
Ask the cardiologist's office whether the follow-up should move before the surgery.
A request for your Care Continuity Partner, worded with you first. A person makes the contact.
The honest answer
Is this an emergency, or can it wait until Monday?
Why it cannot judge that, 911 for an emergency, an offer to raise it with your partner by name, and how slow that path is.
Where it ends
It raises a request for your partner.
Rellan is a tool you use between conversations with your Care Continuity Partner, and it contacts nobody. Its one action is to raise a request for your partner, with the details written into it.
-
1
You name what needs a person
A question for an office, a result you want a clinician to explain, or a change to the schedule. Rellan cannot book, message a provider or change the record.
-
2
You agree the wording
Rellan drafts the request: your concern in your own words, the record it is about and, where a clinician has to answer, a specific question for that office. You decide which clinician answers. It raises the request when you agree, and tells you what it wrote.
-
3
A person makes the contact
Your Care Continuity Partner follows up as on any other request: a person makes the call, the portal message or the fax. A schedule change goes the same way, at your direction.
If it might be an emergency. Asked whether something is an emergency, Rellan says why it cannot judge that, names 911 for an emergency, offers to raise the question with your Care Continuity Partner by name, and says that an answer from a practice often takes several days.
What it never does
The lines it does not cross.
No medical advice, diagnosis, treatment recommendations or dosing.
No interpreting a result, an image or a note for your loved one, and no flag the source did not print.
No judging how urgent something is, or whether to seek care.
No predicting what happens next, and no saying what caused a change; it can set a general effect beside the documented dates.
No writing to the medical record, and no contacting a provider, an insurer or a vendor.
No choosing which clinician answers, and no closing a request. Those are a person's calls.
What it does instead. It raises a request for your Care Continuity Partner, worded with you first, and a person follows up.
Your information
Where your family's information goes.
Rellan reads only what the person asking could open in the app themselves. It does not read documents your Care Continuity Partner has set aside, the Concierge Line's texts and voicemail, staff notes, other households or the web.
Rellan runs on OpenAI language models deployed in Averyn's own Microsoft Azure environment, not a consumer chatbot service. Every platform that touches your family's information is held to HIPAA-compliant standards. Your family's information is not sent to OpenAI or any other AI company; it is processed by Microsoft Azure, one of Averyn's listed subprocessors. The AI provider does not use your family's information to train its models.
Each person sees only their own conversations, and Averyn's administrators can read every conversation. Conversations are kept like other household information and are not guaranteed to persist indefinitely.

In the app
One conversation, three screens.
First screen
It reads who is driving off the calendar.
Nobody had to remember or search.
Second screen
Asked for a new ride, it offers to raise a request.
It shows the exact wording, contacts nobody itself, and says an answer can take days.
Third screen
Once you agree, it raises the request.
It says nothing has been sent yet; a person makes the contact, as in the request steps.
Start with a short conversation.
Fifteen minutes to hear what you are managing and see whether Averyn is a fit. No obligation.
